Interoception and Beyond!

When: April 24,25, 2023

Description

We all observe children who cannot seem to “feel” when they are hungry, thirsty or need to void their bladder. This workshop will demystify the influence of Interoception on different functions of every day living. Important connections to the ability to feel and make sense of our emotions will be discovered as we also will discuss conditions such as Alexithymia and the influence of Dr. Porges’ Polyvagal Theory and social engagement. This workshop will provide background to Interoception and the different links to function, though will also discuss assessment and practical ideas to support building these capacities. It would be an important workshop for anyone concerned with children and developmental delay in a variety of different diagnostic categories

Reviews

This course has helped me understand why we need to stay on the developmental trajectory when working with our clients. The skills will come when the building blocks are in place. Our job is to help create the blocks and the child can take it further.
Millicent Roux, UK
