DIR/Floortime101 Singapore 2021
When: November 23 and 24, 2021
Description
The Delopmental Individual Differences Model (DIR) is a profound way of working with children, adolescents, and adults in a way that harnesses their affect to drive their intention and motivation to grow and learn. This workshop will cover the 6 developmental milestones of Dr. Stanley Greenspan’s model of understanding the functional emotional capacities in typical children, applied to children with special needs. He started this model to target children on the autism spectrum, though it is widely used with multiple diagnostic categories in different ages and stages today. Together we will discover the importance of relationship, affect, and harnessing intrinsic motivation within the child to learn and grow. The attendee will leave the workshop equipped with ideas, techniques and practical information that could be used the very next day. The DIR/Floortime model is very complimentary to many models, including the model of Sensory Integration and is not restricted to a certain age group. Professionals working in schools and pre-school settings, as well as private practice, will find this model helpful in understanding different behaviors. Strategies will be shared to support learning behavior.

Reviews
This was a wonderful presentation. Maude provided good examples and was thorough in her answers. I really enjoyed her video analysis. I appreciate that she spoke on the child AND the therapist in the videos. Her highlighting the therapist’s actions/probing provided me with valuable insight.
I absolutely LOVED this presentation. It was confusing and difficult content presented in such an informative and understandable way. I loved listening to Maude, Thank you!
Loved the video she used to pair with her presentation.
I thought the pacing of information, answering questions, and showing video examples really facilitated by learning.
Maude was very clear and logical. Loved the videos!!
Incredible information that’s easy to put into use with clients. Made me connect many dots with most of my clients (and own children!)
