Deep Dive into ADHD and Executive functioning skills

When:

Live Online Workshop: March 27 to 29, 2026

Description

This advanced professional training offers a comprehensive and integrative exploration of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Executive Functioning Skills from a developmental and neurobiological perspective. The series is designed to strengthen the professional knowledge and clinical reasoning skills of therapists working with children and adolescents who experience challenges in attention, self-regulation, and executive control. Grounded in current research and evidence-based theory, the recorded pre-course establishes a solid conceptual framework for understanding the developmental trajectory of ADHD and the interrelated domains of executive functioning. Participants will engage with the theoretical underpinnings that inform assessment and intervention, ensuring a cohesive foundation for the live sessions.

The live three-day online workshop builds upon this theoretical base through interactive and clinically focused learning. Emphasis is placed on the integration of sensory processing, emotional regulation, and executive function within the broader context of human development. Through reflective discussion and case-based analysis, participants will deepen their ability to interpret complex clinical presentations, apply critical thinking to assessment, and design interventions that support functional and adaptive outcomes.

This professional series promotes a holistic and developmental understanding of ADHD—moving beyond diagnostic categories toward an appreciation of individual differences, environmental influences, and the dynamic interaction between sensory, emotional, and cognitive processes. Participants will gain the conceptual clarity and practical insight necessary to support clients with greater empathy, precision, and therapeutic effectiveness.

Learning Objectives:

  • Pre-Course (Four Recorded Webinars)

By the end of the pre-course component, participants will be able to:

    1. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the theoretical foundations and current literature relating to ADHD and executive functioning across developmental stages.
    2. Differentiate key constructs of attention and executive functioning, and articulate their interrelationships within neurodevelopmental and behavioral frameworks.
    3. Critically evaluate research findings and conceptual models of ADHD to inform evidence-based clinical reasoning and intervention planning.
    4. Analyze the influence of digital media and screen exposure on attention development, cognitive control, and emotional regulation from a developmental neuroscience perspective.

    Live Online Workshop (Three Days)

By the end of the live workshop, participants will be able to:

    1. Integrate theoretical and clinical perspectives to analyze the interplay among sensory processing, emotional regulation, and executive functioning in individuals with ADHD.
    2. Apply structured assessment frameworks and critical thinking guidelines to identify strengths, challenges, and developmental needs in ADHD presentations.
    3. Interpret complexity in clinical cases through a developmental and sensory-informed lens to enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning.
    4. Design and implement intervention strategies that promote self-regulation, attention control, and adaptive executive functioning within real-life contexts.
    5. Evaluate the impact of environmental, relational, and technological factors (including screen exposure and modern stressors) on executive function development.
    6. Reflect on professional practice to enhance cultural sensitivity, therapeutic effectiveness, and ethical decision-making in the support of individuals with ADHD.
