Beyond Labels:
The Intersections of ASD, ADHD, and Dyspraxia
Date: June 5, 2026 (Online)
Location: Singapore Time Zone
Description
Children and adolescents are increasingly presenting with overlapping profiles of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Dyspraxia, each with shared roots in sensory-motor regulation, executive function, and emotional development. Yet, traditional diagnostic frameworks often separate these conditions, leaving gaps in understanding and support. This workshop invites medical and educational professionals to move beyond labels and explore the neurodevelopmental continuum that connects these profiles. Participants will gain cutting-edge insights into topics such as autism masking, trauma’s impact on regulation, sensory-motor foundations of behavior, and pathways to resilience.
Through comparative analysis and real-life vignettes, attendees will learn to distinguish how similar symptoms may arise from different underlying mechanisms—and how to respond with greater precision, empathy, and effectiveness in both clinical and classroom settings.

Learning Objectives:
-
Session 1 – The Neurodevelopmental Landscape
Goal:
Participants will be able to differentiate the core neurodevelopmental and sensory-motor features of ASD, ADHD, and Dyspraxia, and describe how overlapping regulatory challenges impact function across home, school, and clinical settings.Session 2 – Masking, Trauma, and the Hidden Cost of Coping
Goal:
Participants will be able to identify how masking and trauma-related adaptations influence behavior and emotional regulation across ASD, ADHD, and Dyspraxia, with attention to cultural factors relevant to the Singapore context.Session 3 – Regulation, Sensory Processing, and Resilience
Goal:
Participants will be able to apply sensory-motor and emotional regulation principles to support resilience and adaptive functioning in children with overlapping neurodevelopmental profiles.Session 4 – Integrating Interventions Across Contexts
Goal:
Participants will be able to integrate multidisciplinary approaches, including environmental modification, sensory strategies, and relational techniques, to enhance collaboration among therapists, educators, and families in supporting neurodivergent learners.
