Fairy Tales, Disney and Symbolism – Understanding emotional development in Children – Recording

Description

Have you noticed how children can sometimes play the same story over and over and perhaps also specific parts of those stories? Or how certain characters of different stories come up in the chil’s play even as they play out going to the dentist or being in a classroom? This 5-week recorded course covers 5 different fairy tales and their symbolic meaning for children. We will take a deeper look into the child’s view of the stories and characters and gain some insight in what they are going through as they grow through rapid phases of development in their early years. Every experience in our lives is memorized through our limbic (emotional) system. Re-occurrences of different experiences are emotionally associated with those first experiences and creates the possibility of emotional triggers for the child. For those of us who work with developmental delay of any kind, this course will create a natural, non-threatening way of working with children, calming their emotional experiences with regards to competency and autonomy, and increase their intrinsic motivation to grow and overcome the hurdles along the way. This course is not only applicable for early intervention, but children across any age or stage, there is no age limit to symbolic meaning in stories.
