This intermediate-level training is designed for professionals and caregivers who have been exposed to the DIRFloortime Model and are seeking to deepen their understanding of assessment within the DIR model. Emphasizing neuro-affirming practices, this workshop will explore the integration of clinical observation in the DIRFloortime framework for assessing Functional Emotional Developmental Capacities (FEDC’s) 1 through 6. Participants will gain practical strategies for conducting assessments that are respectful, developmentally attuned, and relationship based using specially designed form that can be reproduced after the workshop for personal use.
Recordings will be posted for 60 days after the live sessions in support of ongoing learning. PPT handouts accompany each session. If your time zone does not allow you to attend live, register anyway and watch the recordings on demand for 60 days. CPD accreditation in South Africa has been applied for. Attendees from other countries will receive a certificate of attendance

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Describe the principles of neuro-affirming assessment in the context of autism
- Identify key standardized tools and observational strategies aligned with DIR principles
- Assess and document Functional Emotional Developmental Capacities (FEDCs) 1–6 using the DIRFloortime framework
- Integrate assessment findings into meaningful intervention planning
- Utilize a provided FEDC Chart as a practical tool to support structured assessment and documentation of developmental capacities
Assessment:
Participants will complete a feedback form following the conclusion of the series to reflect on learning outcomes and guide future programming.
Certificate of Attendance:
A certificate will be provided to participants who complete all sessions and the feedback form.

Presenter: Maude Le Roux, OTR/L, SIPT, ADHD/RSP, DIR/Floortime Champion and Expert Trainer
Bio: Maude Le Roux is a global trainer in multiple methodologies and a mentor to therapists from multidisciplinary teams. She opened her practice, A Total Approach in Glen Mills, PA, USA in 2001, and the satellite office in Allentown, PA in 2023. Maude started her training career in 2007 and opened her online academy in 2019. She has designed the Developmental Pathways Model (DPM), which she applies to her own unique assessment and intervention protocol for major diagnosis such as Dyspraxia, ADHD and Executive Functions, Autism, Reading and Writing Disorders, and Trauma and Attachment. Maude served 9 years on the Board of Directors for ATTACh and currently serves on their Advisory Board. She also serves on the Advisory Board for LSWorks (Neuralign program). She is a co-author of two books and more recently wrote a chapter on Trauma and the Body in “Healing Connections” which launched in September 2024. Maude received an award for “Continued child advocacy” through the ATTACh organization in September 2024. She also received the Champion Award through ICDL in November 2024. Maude has a “whole child” approach to care and intervention and equipping the child, while empowering the parent is at the core of who she is as a clinician and trainer.
