Developmental Assessment of Reading (Track 2) - Recording

Description: Targeted assessment for reading and writing skills are very necessary for therapists and educators to know when and how to plan intervention. This short, recorded workshop series of 3 sessions will focus on the three developmental pathway phases necessary to determine where a student could be inhibited from showing the progress that need to be made. The assessment process will consider reading decoding, comprehension and writing supported through the science considered in Track 1 regarding the theory behind reading and writing skill.  Both reading and writing share multiple networks in the brain, even as they each add distinctive differences as well. Educational reading assessments consider if the child can decode fluently or comprehend the material they read. A developmental reading assessment considers the pathways in the brain that is necessary to develop the readiness to decode and integrate the information with fluency and comprehension. This process is one-of-a kind and quite uniquely developed by Maude Le Roux, using her Developmental Pathways Model with a twist. It bridges a very necessary gap between development and acquiring reading and writing skill for the purposes of education. Included would be an evaluation template as well as clinical observation forms with norms that can be used and copied by the attendee if the footnote could state that it was obtained from the Maude Le Roux Academy.

It is recommended to view the Track 1 recorded series considering the science and theory behind reading and writing skill, hosted in the recorded section of www.maudeleroux.com  prior to commencing in this workshop series.

Presenter: Maude Le Roux is an occupational therapist who owns and directs 2 learning centers (A Total Approach) in Pennsylvania, USA. She is an expert in developmental ages and stages and has trained internationally in her methods since 2007. She values the impact of a team approach that considers individual differences in raising the bar to unlock the potential for each student. Maude acknowledges the social-emotional implications of struggling learners and operates from her mantra: If students could, they would.
