Description: Being a Tomatis Practitioner is an exciting new venture, putting the ability to create change in the lives of others in your hands. As a trainer and mentor to many Tomatis practitioners worldwide, Maude shares her extensive experience of her own practice as well as the experiences of others in discovering pitfalls and creating new strengths along the way. This recorded workshop includes forms to support your practice as well as include program decisions for a variety of diagnostic categories. She includes the importance of having successful consultations that will both respect the family and gain the information needed to guide the next decision process. The honest reflection of the ups and downs of her own career in Tomatis will both support the Tomatis practitioner as well as enhance their ability to reflect on their own path, their business model and how to create their own version of success.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss at least 10 studies that create evidence base for being a Tomatis practitioner
  • List at least 6 different diagnostic categories with their program considerations
  • Review 5 principles of consultation practice that will guide program decisions
  • Consider administrative guidelines that will enhance your practice

Presenter: Maude Le Roux, OTR/L, Tomatis Trainer

Bio: Maude Le Roux, OTR/L, is an international trainer in a variety of different courses. She is an accomplished occupational therapist with great affinity for learning and understanding the human brain. She was born and raised in South Africa and graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in Cape Town in 1984. Maude and Charl Le Roux moved to the USA in 1993 and opened A Total Approach in September 2001. Maude is SIPT certified and specializes in Sensory Integration services as it applies to functional activities of daily living, including improving the ability of children / students of all ages to partake in his/her learning environment.

Maude has been certified in the Tomatis method since 2003 and trains internationally in the Tomatis Method for TDSA in Luxembourgh since 2009. She designs her own live courses with regards to occupational functioning of students across different ages and stages of development in a variety of categories. Maude works with a team of occupational therapists and speech language pathologists in her practice. She is well known for her experience and work with children who are diagnosed with ADHD/Executive Functioning, Autism Spectrum, Brain injury and Concussion, Attachment, Sensory Processing Disorder, Dyspraxia and Dyslexia/ Learning Disabilities. Maude is a mentor to many Tomatis practitioners internationally. She opened The Maude Le Roux Academy online in January 2019. She has presented on the Tomatis method in a variety of settings across the US as well as at several international Tomatis conferences. She has co-authored the book, The Listening Journey, with Francoise Nicoloff, and her second book, Our Greatest Allies, is available on Amazon.com.
