Fine Motor Skills, Dysgraphia, Handwriting and Written Expression

Date: Monday, March 17, 2025, 9am - 4pm GMT+2 (Johannesburg, South Africa time zone) through virtual platform

Description: This workshop will demystify the different components necessary to consider in the variety of aspects considering the act of writing. As one of the classic referrals for occupational therapy assessment and intervention, we take a closer look at the different components that impact on efficient handwriting skill, as well as including handwriting skill in written expression assignments such as essays. As we are transitioning more and more into replacing typing for actual handwriting, we will also look at what the research really says about this. This workshop will cover theory, but also assessment and practical tips within each session. The professional will feel empowered to look deeper and feel more equipped in understanding this complicated developmental capacity.

Recordings will be posted for 60 days after the live sessions in support of ongoing learning. PPT handouts accompany each session. If your time zone does not allow you to attend live, register anyway and watch the recordings on demand for 60 days.
