Description: As occupational therapists we focus much of our attention on vision and visual-perceptual intervention. As speech language pathologists we focus on the auditory / phonics components of listening and reading decoding. And in-between the visual and auditory function we require a stellar performance of the vestibular system melding these functions together.

Provider Name: The Maude Le Roux Academy
Presenter: Maude Le Roux is well-known speaker and mentor for therapists globally and has accumulated a wide array of knowledge across different aspects of child development, including reading and writing. She emphasizes the developmental brain and its readiness to learn from our environment and how therapists could impact on their functional occupations. Maude has been involved in reading programs since 2008 as reading is an acquired skill in the brain and as such requires development in order to mature. She has developed her own assessment and intervention protocol for reading proficiency, which she trains globally from her own online platform, Maude Le Roux Academy. Maude partners with LSWorks in Canada to bring Neuralign to South Africa and beyond and as such obtains a stipend for her work in promoting Neuralign only in South Africa.
