When: Tuesday, March 28, 2023 (9am to 4pm Johannesburg, South Africa time)
Description: Our sense of touch is much more than a response received by our skin. It is a living, breathing “organ” through which we experience multiple different aspects of life. From the womb to our maturity our sense of touch acts as an agent of connection to ourselves, to others as well as our environments. Maude is inviting you to take a deeper look at this sensory system and to take this journey with her. She will explore the neuro-physiology, the development as well as the psychological experience of touch. As always, the information will be practical with multiple ideas, as it will also be contemplative and thought provoking. This workshop will cross different disciplines of thought and be applicable to all involved in therapeutic relationship, across the different ages and stages of life. Explore the magic of touch and through touch, experience the magic of connection with the Self and others!

Bio: Maude is a globally known presenter on a variety of different topics. She hails from South Africa, graduated there in 1984, and opened her private practice in Glen Mills, PA in 2001. All of her work and training stems from the theory of Sensory Integration, as it applies to all areas of functional every-day living. She opened the Maude Le Roux Academy in January 2019 as her travel schedule disallowed her the pleasure of feeling “grounded” in her own home! Maude accomplished multiple certifications throughout the years and continues her journey of being a life- long learner. She believes in giving back to her community and has served on the Board of Directors for ATTACh for the past 7 years. Maude co-authored the book, Our Greatest Allies, with Lauren O’Malley and hopes to find the time in the next 5 years to finish another book she has been laboring over. Her wish is for every therapist to come fully into their own being, be their authentic selves, so their clients can also transition from sometimes fragmented places to a new sense of wholeness.
