Understanding Interactive Metronome and the Concept of timing in the Brain – Recording

Description

This 5-day course will provide the participant with an overview of the Interactive Metronome Program and the different reasons why this program is necessary for functional proficiency as well evidence based for practice. The impact of timing in the brain and the different tenets of integration will be discussed applicable to different scopes of practice. Participants will gain an understanding of the different features of the Interactive Metronome Program, as well as the objective clinical data that can be derived from the different tests available in the program itself. The 4 phases of intervention will be clearly discussed with video material to enhance the understanding of the participant. Video clips will highlight activity ideas, as well as the progression of clietst through the different phases.  The course will conclude with an in-depth discussion of 2 to 3 different case profiles and their progress over time.

Session 2 – What is Interactive Metronome and How does it Work – 90 minutes
Session 3 – Assessments with Objective Comparative Data – 90 minutes
Session 4 – Intervention that Targets Function – 90 minutes
Session 5 – 2019 Case study – 90 minutes

Learning Objectives:
1) Recognize Interactive Metronome as a helpful tool for clinical assessment and intervention.
2) List 3 assessments that could be customized to different diagnosis and ages.
3) Identify the practical application of timing as a component of praxis and its impact on development, learning and occupational function.
